about.

Hi, I’m Zoe! I’m a Junior undergraduate Animation and Visual Effects student at Chapman University. My emphasis is in 2D animation but I’m interested in exploring every aspect of this amazing art form. Like our parents always said, you won’t know if you like it until you try it. Nothing makes me feel at home like slipping on my headphones and getting lost in a project for hours, but I have experience in a wide array of art forms. Having performed in musicals and plays since the age of three, I’ve channeled my acting experience when creating personalities and facial expressions for my characters. (You can usually spot me making weird faces when I draw). I’ve also used my own photos and videos of myself dancing ballet or practicing aerial silks when studying movement. I also enjoy creative writing, which comes in handy when I’m creating a script or storyboard.

In the long run, I plan on opening my own studio and creating highly stylized animated films. However, I know the journey there is going to be a lengthy one, so I plan on enjoying it just as much (if not more) than the destination. As I hone my artistic skills, I also hope to broaden my horizons and learn from those with different backgrounds than me. I’m a firm believer that the media we consume should be representative of those who consume it. Therefore, I strive to include actors, creators, and stories from all walks of life, and to hold myself accountable whenever possible.

“Creating a culture of inclusion is not an optional exercise; it is the indispensable precondition that enables us to capitalize on our diverse skills, perspectives, and experiences…”
